In May 2021, the the district court of The Hague ordered that Royal Dutch Shell must reduce its global carbon emissions from its 2019 levels by 45% by 2030

Oil companies make their money literally by digging up fossilised carbon. Their carbon emissions aren't something that's avoidable, it's the core of their whole business.
Western Governments have tied themselves to legally binding agreements to destroy their own economies in order to stop global warming, but these small reductions won't make any difference one way or another to climate change. The only actual way to stop carbon emissions is to stop digging up carbon out of the ground - cap oil wells and close coal mines. Climate justice and international agreements were only ever designed as a distraction from this core truth. -
