Why is there no mention of his daughter? Thsts kinda sad. His daughter has the same name as an ex gf of mine so I was expecting to be triggered but am instead left confused
Even though he had given up his rights, when his daughter is older and she wants to know about her father, seeing her name in his obituary would give her a connection and a better sense of closure.
I remember he posted a pic of her and she looked alot like him.
What a shitty obit. All the people I know who've died over the last month (5ish) had better obituaries that mentioned things beyond the bare facts. Maybe it's his families catholicism buy thst obituary definitely left me wanting more

I think they intentionally left it kind of barebones because they didn't want to accidentally hint at the negative stuff. even if you liked him you have to admit he fucked up a lot, and catholics in general don't like to talk about the drugs and insanity that bubbled up especially toward the end

Yeah, makes sense, I'm just comparing to people I've known with similar trajectories and their obituaries. No matter what it's never succinct and a breath of fresh air. Just thought it was lacking. Didn't even mention his cat or his love of music or anything. Just reads like purely a formality that someone who didn't know him wrote the night before.
Besides all the drugs and insanity there was a lovable person there but nobody who reads that obituary will ever know that.
For someone who could be described at times as happy go lucky (or happy go touchy) his demise has left no good feelings at all
