The threat assessment for this community has changed significantly over the past 5 years and many of the user disappearances/"deaths" can be attributed to this. Most of the supposed deaths have simply been a cover for the exfiltration of assets whose presence here could no longer be justified. You might not believe me but there was a point in time when around a quarter of the active users here were only present in an official capacity. Not NIS specifically, of course, but at one point in the totse/zoklet/intosanc/rdfrn/nis lineage, over the decades. With under 50 active/semi-active users in the community now, almost none of whom pose a threat of any kind (let alone a serious threat to national security, as once may have been the case) it's simply more sensible for resources to be allocated elsewhere and individuals of interest to be monitored by more targeted and traditional means.

No one has really been a threat to national security, just themselves. There was that LSD faggot that beat his mother over coffee and was shamed in the news lol. We've produced no serial killers either.

This community has very publicly been of interest to the US Secret Service, FBI, ATF, and DEA at times. This community was at various points a hotbed for the proliferation of IEDs, an open air drug market, and the nexus for a counterfeiting ring. And that is just scratching the surface - the most high-profile stuff that literally everyone knows about. On the individual level there have been countless people who posed cybersecurity threats, made credible threats to politicians, etc. It's not all been sunshine and kids shoving their mom over a cup of Starbucks coffee.

What makes you think this community never had a serial killer or two? You think they'd have been posting their handiwork here? Made a "LOLYUSTABME?: I AM A SERIAL KILLER AND THESE ARE MY VICTIMS" thread? This community has provided a lot of information over the years which could be useful to a serial killer. Maybe some obscure totse user from 2003 went on to murder 5 people and the users just never heard about it. Who knows? Not me, certainly.

Like I said, this forum isn't that relevant and that's why so many prominent users are disappearing. The national security justifications for inserting people into this particular community have more or less evaporated. This forum is just the tip of a decades-spanning iceberg. This community has been around for over 2 decades, and it has been an absolute menace at times.
