Integrating radar detector notifications/information into car stereo

dunno what you mean to accomplish by opening up a thread, all those head units are closed-source so we can't just program new inputs into them.
the easiest thing I can think of would be to wire the radar detector into an arduino or something that generates a tone, then wire that into the head unit so you get an audible alert when the radar detector triggers. -

My A8 had one. The new one they have is supposed to be even better.
You gotta everything tho, “stealth installed” with the laser jammers & shit, otherwise it’s not really worth it.
But it does work great! -

Those maestro units are also used to show data diagnostics on the head unit, as well as allow the steering wheel controls to work when replacing the stock head unit. -

No, I did not install it myself.
Might as well, just get it all.
Buuuuut...
You can add the laser jammers and shit later on as well.
The stealth install required taking the dash apart. That’s why I didn’t do it myself, cause if something breaks, it’s replaced by them, not you. -

I don't drive anything fancy, the sound system in my car at this point is probably worth as much as the car itself. I just think that an integrated radar detector would be nice, as it wouldn't clutter up the interior yet still provide functionality. The diagnostic data link would also be nice since less and less cars have a temperature gauge or an oil pressure gauge.
Not sure about the legality of jammers around these parts, I have heard stories of people getting them confiscated. -

Actually it must have been a radar jammer, not a laser jammer. Ive had radar tickets dropped in court, but laser ones ive only ever had reduced to something that doesn't go on driving record.
Makes me want to consider the laser jammers, as those are legal in most places. -

How stealthy was your setup? Any specific examples? I would probably want to do it myself since I already took apart the whole interior before to run wires/ add sound deadening. Also did a retrofit of the headlights to bi-xenon, so familiar with the front end of the car well. -

The stealth on mine was total stealth.
Even standing in front of the car it was hard to see the laser phasers/jammers. You really had to know what you were looking for, in order to realize they weren’t factory. If your car is black, which mine was, everything looked stock.
On the inside, there’s nothing dangling or in the windshield anywhere. It’s all hidden underneath the center console. The way you activate/deactivate it and/or features it has is from a remote, the size of a key fob.
You can have the warning sound on or off.
And the warning lights on or off.
The warning lights were 2 VERY small blue LED’s placed near the turn signals. (The newest version IIRC goes even further and now hides these LED’s in the turn signal arrows themselves that are on your dash.
The left warning light is for threats in front, and the right warning light is for threats from the rear.
It’s pretty damn stealthy.
As always, you shouldn’t rely on it 100%, that’s just dumb IMO, but it’s definitely helpful and nice to have. Especially the jammers. Pretty sure those have saved my ass a few times. -
2021-05-17 at 7:51 PM UTCI meant more for the actual detectors; where do those go, I assume they need to be in view of the road, either inside the cabin or somewhere in the front bumper? What about the laser jammers? Those probably needed to be hidden in the bumper as well, no? Was it just tiny holes drilled into the bumper, were they hidden in the head lights, etc.

2021-05-18 at 1:05 PM UTCThe radar portion is hidden behind the front bumper (the plastic outer shell) no metal can be in front of it.
The laser jammers are hidden within the grill. Nothing is supposed to be blocking these.
...since they have to shoot out laser of their own.
