3. Chymotrypsin can hydrolyze two substrates: N-acetylvaline ethyl ester (KM = 88 mM) and N-acetyltyrosine ethyl ester (KM = 0.66 mM).
A. Draw a saturation plot for Chymotrypsin’s activity with these two substrates. Make sure to clearly indicate what each curve represents and label the x- and y-axis.
B. Which substrate will require the least amount of substrate to reach ½ Vmax?
C. Propose a reason for the difference in the affinity of the substrates based on your knowledge of chymotrypsin.

From this site, I have read 2 pages of a single thread thus far (this one, in case you are wondering). So without any context regarding the overall theme of this website, views of the members, or whether the "space" referenced in the site name includes the inextricably linked time vector, or is rooted in the decidedly Newtonian mechanics consistent with the human condition; but after reading several posts by the extremely intelligent author, known as "ghost", I felt the need to respond and thus sign up for a free account.
The reason for my response is that, while it is entirely plausible that "ghost" is simply and internet troll hell-bent on getting other members all riled-up, the first 2 pages of this thread include few, if any, comments made as to the validity of his message… that whatever one's profession, from scientist to prostitute, if they took the time to dedicate their life to mastering a craft, then it is so we dont have to. They are like the ones who came before us, offering their shoulder to stand upon so that we too can pick our fruit from the tree of knowledge as long as we heed their advice on which ones are ripe. So maybe next time you here a scientist say "vaccines are good" or a prosty say "fosta/sesta" is bad, heed their advice, or go become an expert on the subject to help out the rest of us.
However as a realist, I know most humans are pretty dumb. I say this not to troll, but only as a statement of fact based on evidence collected over the last several years…I am much smarter than most if not all of you, and it is likely that the OP of this thread, Ghost (based on pages 1 and 2 at least) is smarter than all of you as well. I know none of you will take my, ghost's, or any expert advice really. So I am just writing this as a record of humanity, for the sake of humanity, in hopes of saving face when future AI attempt to investigate what went wrong.
As for me, for now I have decided to try and be dumber since it is always beneficial to walk in anothers shoes before passing judgement. Maybe you people can try being smart for a bit just to see if you like it? Anyways, I figured killing brain cells is a great way to get dumb. And a great way to get dumb is to smoke wjth tina. Any experts out there how to make a good pipe? You see, I broke my glass earlier today and googled possible remedies, its actually how I found this site.

Short/Long Answers
Fill in the blanks please.
The voltage across a 12 (ohm) resistor that is not connected to a power source will not be _______________
and can be described by the equation __________________. This noise is called ______________________.
The spectral output shown below is from _____________________ lamp.
This lamp would have to be combined with a __________________ lamp in order to provide an output from 200nm to 800 nm.
You wish to obtain the absorbance spectrum of a sample that is highly light sensitive, which means that light exposure to the sample results in its degradation. You need to obtain a spectrum from 200 nm to 800 nm. You have a choice between a diode-array, scanning spectrophotometers, and a scanning spectrofluorometer. Which instrument should you choose to obtain the spectrum? Why? You must answer the “why” to obtain full credit.
Your lab partner states that you should use the equation for root mean squared (rms) to measure the noise associated with the baseline spectrum below. Clearly state whether you agree or disagree by circling or highlighting the answer below, and then provide your justification. Failure to provide justification will result in no points.
Use RMS equation DO NOT use RMS equation
Why or why not
An organic molecule possesses two absorption bands (@ 230 and 390 nm), fluorescence bands @ 420 resulting from excitation of 390 nm band, and a phosphorescence band (@ 622nm). Some of these electronic transitions are depicted in the Jablonski’s diagram below. Complete the diagram by drawing the hypothetical absorbance bands, fluorescence bands, and the phosphorescence band on the plot below. Clearly label absorbance bands, fluorescence bands (emission) and phosphorescence band (emission). Denote the wavelengths of these processes by properly labeling the wavelength numbers where appropriate. Be sure to also note the following: Internal conversion, Intersystem crossing, singlet and triplet excited states, vibrational relaxation in the excited states.
A manufacturer of high-end UV-Vis spectrophotometer claims that their instrument produces only random noise in the UV region (250-300nm). You test this by taking 6 air measurements from 250 to 309 nm to determine if the noise is truly random. Based on the spectra provided, is the noise random? Circle the answer YES or NO below.
Also, in order to receive full credit, you must also justify your answer “Yes” or “No”. Use a moving average of 9 in your calculations. Use of any other number for your moving average will result in no credit.
Clearly label your columns and I need to be able to see the equations used.
Only circling the answer below will result in zero points.
