Windows so recognizes it and its shows up in game controllers in the control panel but there is no input

i heard its difficult to get them to work unless younget one of those ones from third party with a wire and usb also in addition to bouetooth thwt have support listed on their box ir website fir both windows and ps3. so the dirvers in those doenload automatically.

yeah whatever fuck micro$oft but they spent the money making the controllers many years ago and are completely removed from the supply chain. They made millions of controllers and the reason third party people always buy pallets of them is because they always sell, there are lots to go around $30 each USB just plug in your computer, instant OS recognition and you can play any game.
I like ease of use so i go with that.

C:\WINDOWS\system32 needs to be writable. It is read only as default.

Click on "Input Device" > "Configure device mapping" and there select your controller and click "Configure", to assign yaw, thrust etc. to the stick.

Make the system32 folder writable and then press the round "Playstation" button in the middle of the controller while hitting "Detect" in Control Panel->Game Controllers->Properties and then try it again.

Then go into Device Manager and check "Human Interface Devices" and "Other Devices" for yellow question marks.
