-
2017-03-30 at 4:32 PM UTCAustralia's like a country mid-seizure in this regard - half the population would support this dumbass legislation because life here is too easy and haven't been exposed to actual foreign cultures (as opposed to the crassly commercialised and watered-down stereotypes), the other half are functionally retarded 'fuck off we're full' types
-
2017-03-30 at 5:03 PM UTCWell, we are about to go to "civil-war" with a bunch of Muslim refugees because that's the jedi's plan to fuck both of us so yea, I dunno.
Do you really have all kinds of spiders and shit on your little island? I'm starting to believe that's a trick. -

yeah, they're not as common as the internet makes out though.
in summer we see huntsmen all the time; they're huge but pretty harmless. worst is when you're driving and one walks across the windscreen, a fair few people get into crashes that way. I try not to kill them, usually just get them in a chinese food container and take them outside.
Redback spiders are common; they're dangerous, but only lethal to a small child. their venom isn't strong enough to kill an adult under most circumstances, but that doesn't mean it's fun. people get bitten because the spiders tend to hide in cracks or small spaces out of sight.
Funnelwebs are fucking nightmares. I've never personally come across one; they tend to live closer to the coast and further north I believe... Thank fuck for that. not only are they venomous enough to kill an average person with a bite, they're hyper-aggressive and territorial too. they'll sometimes attack instead of running away like most spiders. to top it off they wear black fucking armor.
their name comes from the holes they live in - in their natural habitat they'll spend most of the time underground and only come out to attack other bugs, but nowadays they sometimes wander into houses or buildings and fuck shit up.

2017-03-31 at 2:15 AM UTCHow about other insects. Is it buzzing and shit all the time.
Snakes? I'm actually cool with spiders but snakes keep me of that motherfucking plane. -
2017-03-31 at 2:24 AM UTCI've not seen many snakes since I live in the city. My grandparents live out in the country, have seen a few copperheads there and a red-belly at my primary school years ago... The're pretty standard in terms of lethality and aggression though, at least compared to snakes in the US. I'm not really sure what's slithering about in Europe.
Tiger snakes and especially Taipans are the 'scariest' ones being that their venom acts a lot like a nerve agent coupled with their aggressive tendencies, but I've never seen them outside of a reptile park. -
2017-03-31 at 2:27 AM UTCWhy do you pay so much for drugs?
-

what a fucking sissy.
don't ever come to florida...if your think aussieland is scary...you'll find this place to be a house of fucking horrors. -
2017-03-31 at 2:32 AM UTCthough in terms of actual drug prices it's largely because of international customs; they're extremely tight and it's much harder to get contraband through than any other country I'm aware of, except for maybe arabs in israeli occupied territories.

2017-03-31 at 2:32 AM UTCI mean in general. What's the fucking deal?
Is Heroin cheap? Why can't you make Meth? -
2017-03-31 at 2:38 AM UTCheroin used to be (relatively) cheap in the 90s, when southeast asian (vietnamese, cambodian etc.) gangs were big. it's a lot less popular now.
meth precursors are tightly controlled; specifically there's a national database for pseudoephedrine sales so you can't buy a pack more than once a week or so. it's also the only cold medication we have that does much of anything; oral phenylephrine might as well be placebo. that's not to say that precursors are impossible to get, but it thins competition so manufacturers can charge what they want.
the media's been having panic attacks about meth ('ice') for the last 3-4 years, which just drives the prices up further -
2017-03-31 at 2:40 AM UTCWhat are the pros again?
-
2017-03-31 at 4:29 AM UTCWe have a pretty strict merit-based immigration policy here so we get the cream of the crop handsome and well tanned individuals, and most people have no idea how fucked the Islamic world is. They see all brown people as innocent victims of systemic racism, 'Islamophobia' and evil western imperialism.
