People become cops because they want interactions. Just like people become homicide investigators because they know there's gonna be homicides. Not one homicide detective honestly believes they took the job because they want to put an end to all murders. They NEED murder. They enjoy when a new case gets presented to them.
Same with cops. They might not all enjoy each and every call they get (oh pfft another shots fired call on 104th st Manhattan:eyeroll:) but, they would still rather do that than go pull over speeders.
You're probably right. Seems even more fucked up wanting to be a cop if I think about it like that. -
2021-03-31 at 6:56 AM UTCI'd imagine ur head is in the clouds. Pretty sure ur location doesn't dictate ur mind state.

I would have stopped kneeling on his neck when he said he couldn't breath (because I know it sucks to feel suffocated like that) and I would have asked my other 3 officers to help me make sure he stayed down while we waited for paramedics. I may have even given him a shoulder massage just to make him feel better.:) -

Didn't they know each other? I remember reading St. Floyd worked private security with Chauvin before he got fired for something or other. -

I mean cmon.. why else would you become a cop? "Because I want to do good, I want to make the world a better place."
Lol
Yeah, in a way they do that, and in a way I think some of them genuinely intend that, like an american soldier genuinely believes hes protecting our country by joining the military.
But mostly they simply want interaction. And power. You know that. POWER. everyone likes having power. Very few occupations grant you extreme power. Politicians kinda.. and then basically everything law and justice related. Literal power over another human.
Imagine actually being a judge. Just seeing fellow people stand before you and telling them that they have to go to prison for 10 years, or even jail for 10 days.
Judges are the worst. -

Lol well you asked and I answered. I know myself and i know i personally would have stopped kneeling on his neck. That's just in my nature. When a person is done, they're done.
If I stopped kneeling and floyd suddenly sprung up like a crazed mad man and tazmanian devil beat up me and the other 3 officers, then I would deal with those consequences. -
2021-03-31 at 7:15 AM UTCI'm not trying to be some antagonist weird...but if ur a known drug offender?

I'm definitely afflicted. I have to get myself together. -
