I dont think any of this case relies on "did chauvin directly kill floyd due to the knee on neck."
There are just so many scenarios.
None of which justify 9 minutes of neck kneeling. That's the one I need to get past. Particularly the last 3 minutes where he was entirely unresponsive, not talking, and not moving.
would need to prove intent for that
what they have so far is pretty much manslaughter, but if the hold used didn't actually lead to Floyd's death then... what? internal police punishment for using improper technique?
there's not much they can pin on him if they can't prove that Chauvin acted maliciously or that the technique he used actually led to Floyd's death, even if it was unnecessary -

The fact that he offered ZERO support to Floyd, who said he couldn't breathe dozens of times, is what I dont get.
I've said before I really dont think he meant to kill him, but he certainly didnt mean to try and save his life either.
Idk man.. it's like tapping out in an MMA fight. When you tap out, you're done. If there wasnt a ref, and you tapped out and the dude just kept submitting you... that's fucking.. not good. Lol
Negligent homicide or manslaughter. "I didnt mean to, but it happened, and I could've been smarter about it."
Questions I would ask-
Why didnt he check his pulse at any point?
Why didnt he and the 3 other officers restrain him?
Why did he stop kneeling on his neck at all? What was the deciding factor when he actually stopped?
What is Derek's father's internet mail address? -
2021-03-31 at 6:12 AM UTCVictim was on drugs. Literally. It's kinda bullshit if it's someone else's fault. Don't put urself in that position? :/

with his behavior -- he needed to be restrained.
they tried so by putting him in the back of their cruiser but that obviously didn't work out so how else were they suppose to restrain a 6ft-something muscular black guy schizing out from meth psychosis?
the only thing i saw wrong was derek should've checked on him sooner and the EMT sure seemed to take their sweet time trying to save him.
i got my cousin, who knows how to properly apply that restraint, to use it on me like 7 months ago and it hurts like hell trying to break free from it -- which is obviously the point -- but i sure was able to breathe. -
2021-03-31 at 6:21 AM UTCThis shit is so tedious. Some people will cheerlead any injustice once it is done to the "white" guy, no matter what. Just like the Trayvon trial.
Even when they are wrong and you point that out, they will keep hammering away. Dishonestly.
There is no point arguing the points. We need physical separation. -

Zillions of people are on drugs when they get arrested.
I'm just pretending to be floyd. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and chug water so hard and fast that I feel like I'm gonna drown. Lol. And it sucks. And yeah I've been in a chokehold and it sucks. It's a weird scary feeling. So I would be really really sad if I couldn't hardly breath and I was begging for the person causing it to please let up, and they didn't.
It's kind of like when i played hide and seek with my cousin jesse when we were kids and i hid inside the hide-a-bed couch thing, and then when he finally found me, he wouldnt let me out, and I started to panic, and he just kept laughing thinking it was funny because I guess technically it was, but to me I was legitimately freaking out maybe I'm claustrophobic but it was the worst feeling ever.
If I wouldve somehow died from lack of oxygen because my cousin sat on the couch laughing at me while I begged for him to let me out, I think he should be charged with manslaughter. Not that I want him to, but because that's what manslaughter is. A thing you could have prevented, that you didnt mean for it happen, but you totally made it happen. -
2021-03-31 at 6:33 AM UTCI see it. But what about ur cousin, who works hard & becomes a cop, but is in a bad position with a person under the influence.
Nothing is right in the whole situation. -

Maybe I'm totally wrong. Is that protocol? If you have 4 or less adult full grown male officers, and you have your suspect restrained, continue to restrain him/her by kneeling on neck until they dont move or talk for 2+ minutes ?
Why did Derek finally get off his neck anyway? Floyd could've been faking dead and jumped up meth-psychosis style and killed everyone. Why did Derek think it was ok to finally stop kneeling on him? -

One is a trained officer and the other is on drugs. One takes their job knowing full well they're going to encounter lots of people on drugs. Its not like it was a big surprise to Chauvin. -
2021-03-31 at 6:39 AM UTCSuch a silly question. I don't think u could have an obvious easy answer when u work w non competent, - aware.

2021-03-31 at 6:42 AM UTCI really think u have to have experience before u can sit back & judge on dealing with emergency situations. I know it all seems obvious. But sometimes it's not.

Imagine landing a job as a cop, and getting assigned to patrol the ghetto.
Apparently the place where Floyd was martyred is a no-go zone now. Like some sort of weird new order has taken over there.

I totally agree with you. We never know exactly how we're going to react.
That's why a lot of police shootings get dismissed because its literally bang-bang instant reaction shit. When they unload their entire clip it's actually quite telling that they're clearly scared as fuck for their life and instinctively just keep shooting until they cant anymore.
This one is different though, in that it wasnt a fear for my life scenario. Bystanders asking to help. Paramedic asking to help.
Quite fucking frankly, he had every opportunity in the world to simply get off his neck, and still keep him restrained on the ground. -
2021-03-31 at 6:48 AM UTCWhat would u have done, Wren? Let me guess, u don't know because u don't have the training.

U really think this man willfully, & intentionality killed this man. That's crazy. -

I'd imagine most people that want to be cops in big cities know full well that they're gonna get dispatched to "the ghetto" plenty of times. Lol
People become cops because they want interactions. Just like people become homicide investigators because they know there's gonna be homicides. Not one homicide detective honestly believes they took the job because they want to put an end to all murders. They NEED murder. They enjoy when a new case gets presented to them.
Same with cops. They might not all enjoy each and every call they get (oh pfft another shots fired call on 104th st Manhattan:eyeroll:) but, they would still rather do that than go pull over speeders.
