My parents were married for over 60 years. Their marriage survived Dad leaving during World War II and Korea (Dad was a Marine pilot and a Captain and got retreaded into Korea although he stayed stateside for Korea). They had five children and something like 15 grandchildren. He retired from Ma Bell (after getting credited for retirement back to when he was 18 and started with them before joining the Marines) to a small lake for the last 20 years of his life in a home that he designed.
You just don't see this type of thing any more. I consider myself very fortunate.
In school my group of friends were all divorced kids and we would bully anyone that had a normal family.
I think it's interesting a modern insult zoomer kids say to each other is "lol you live in a neighborhood everyone trick or treats in" which seems crazy and really cringe to me but I guess ever since 2008 poverty and shitty life has become the norm for the youth.
