It's pre-activated because when a business buys 100 computers nobody has time to enter all the license codes. So it's tied to the hardware, that's why i asked whether it ran Win10 originally. If it did, EOL license will sort you out without bothering you for the license key. -

2021-03-15 at 12:33 PM UTCI bought one off ebay UK this weekend for $3.30. Ebay takes them down pretty much as soon as they go up (they are slower at it on UK Ebay though that's why I go there for them).
I got the key, 10 mins later ebay took down the ad, I got a message from paypal saying "You're payment has not been claimed as the user is no longer a registered user, do you wish to cancel the transaction?"
Duh yeah...so I got the key for free.
