2021-02-24 at 4:45 PM UTCthey need to adjust the job restriction thing because people aren't criminals their entire lives.
I don't mean give Kr0z a job at a battered women's shelter or an armor car driver (with his prior drug addictions)
just a Normal Job. Warehouse guy or something. shit. -

This is not true. Walmart hires felons.“We hire felons as long as their timeline of conviction has fallen off. There are no questions about convictions on the application but we ask about convictions on background checks. Background checks are done on new hires, right before the job offer. There are no special programs for hiring felons. Felons can work in departments that do not use firearms. As well, they can be hired for managerial posts as long as there is no use of firearms.”
They're actually unusual in that they've made a public statement about this and clarified that yes, they do indeed hire felons.
So it makes me curious as to why you would think they don't. They basically have to if their business model is to survive. -

walmart hired me before my whole legal thing with chzboogerz but wouldn't hire me do to a theft case I had when I was 18 even though i'd already completed the probation and it was the smallest of felonies a state jail felony where prison time isn't even in question over it. I'm sure at a point they hired felons but they don't anymore keenan not here anyways
Samething with heb, they even want me to work there but they just can't push it through hr.
but yeah jobs like warehouse work definitely hire a bunch of felons.
i got a job around this time last year doing what fona does, and yeah they made me get a physical and drug test me and I had to consent to a background check but they didn't do the background check or just straight up didnt care.
it just really depends on the company, like how wariorat was going on about how a guy like me could never get a job at blizzard, yet I literally did get hired with blizzard and worked for them for 9 months and nothing ever came up with my background check one of the managers there was a literal pedophile but they still hired him.
But at the sametime I totally could not walk into a mcdonalds and get hired but at the same time I really don't mind that because I prefer to work for local businesses instead. -
2021-02-24 at 9:58 PM UTCSafeway / randalls / krogers hires felons though for sure but then they also hire literal handicapped people.
but places like bars and restaurants don't do background checks thats how guys like mq and I can even work, but it does seem a little crazy to completely railroad someone for a simple mistake they made when they were young as if no one else does illegal things at all.. its not like I raped a woman up the ass or murdered someone or did insider trading -

when I applied for walmart they offered me the job and then did the background check and drug test after the job offer. This was like over 8 years ago so maybe things are different now. They kept giving me the run around as to why the background check hadn't come through yet and to keep calling back so I called for two years until I got an answer, they evidently banned me from calling every walmart in texas because I said heads are going to roll if I have to show up there
but yeah I also had another interview with a place I probably woudln't want to work at anyways and they sent me a link to a federal background check site so I'm probably not ever going to hear back from them. -
