People can have drug problems and be around the public but nobody will hire a sex offender if they could be around the public because that is a liability. I know a hairdresser who fired someone when she found out he had sex charges before. A criminal record check can exempt a lot of different types but I would rather have a history of being a junkie than a history of noncery and I can't imagine an employer who would prefer one to the other. you know that guy fubi? He literally told me on a couple occasions that him and his homies would rape guys gf's at parties and he was arrested for it twice but never convicted but hey, thats totally cool with a lot of the user base here.
