The only thing that I was wrong about was that you installed it. It came pre-installed instead. Easy thing to miss considering bloatware isn't generally that intrusive.
You still haven't told us what exactly was the problem. -

You still haven't told us what exactly was the problem.
the problem with my original problem was that on this particular phone when you plug it in it to a laptop (i did so for the first time last night while really tired and never had this happen with any other phone) it said "charging, charging mode" when the lil pop up came up on my phone but not on my laptop , a similar pop up has always came up on all my phone when i plug it in to my lappy so i didn't think much of it, i tapped it and i was able to change it to mtp mode.. I've never had to do that with any phone before...
so yeah you can say Bill Krozby is an idiot blah blah blah.. but even the customer service online was suggesting resetting my phone / getting software ect.. and even the guy at the phone store was suggesting outrageous like resetting my phone when I told him I didn't want to do that because I had just taken video the night before..
easy fix.. no one had the right advice on the android forums or anywhere else. no offense daniel I appreciate the help, you're the only one that actually tried to give me advice.. but it doesn't have the options in the settings you were talking about.. It just doesn't its a newer lg phone..
So many people here are so full of themselves "herp durp , he calls it a lappy!" yet doesn't have any advice.. then you faggots circle jerk each other over me not understanding my phone, yet i figured it out.. fuck you all -

Actually, that's the exact advice I was giving you. You just weren't looking in the right place. To be fair, LG probably put the setting in some fucked up place since manufacturers like LG and Samsung feel they have to have their own little tweaked version of Android to stand out. Either that or you just missed it. It's probably under developer options like I said.
As it is now, you'll have to do that every time you connect your phone, right? If you'd listened to me, then you could have set it to connect to MTP by default instead of charging.
Open settings.
Tap About phone.
Scroll to the bottom and you should see an item that says Build number.
Tap that 7 times until it says developer mode activated.
Go back and you should now see the Developer options section.
Tap that and scroll through until you see an option that says Select USB Configuration or simply USB Configuration.
Change it from charging to MTP.
Problem solved permanently. -

bud it had nothing to do with opening the settings and i get what you're saying about changing it from charing to mtp.. but it had nothing to do with going to the settings or USB config... it was its own pop up that said the phone was charing and you could only access that and change it for like 5 seconds and then it just went to a normal charge button..
i shit you not its not exactly what you say.. and yes it lead me to different options where I could choose to do it a single time or keep it set like that permanently.. i guess its basically a safetey feature for when you're in public and charging, but my point is nothing that you said about "the settings" or the "about" part of the phone had anything that you said.. not even the phone guys were able to help me..
IT DOES NOT HAVE THE FUCKING BUILD NUMBER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ABOUT PHONE SECTION OF "MY PHONE" WHAT DO YOU NOT GET ABOUT DAT!!!!?? -

Persistent not petty.
You do have it listed somewhere, just not where it should be because LG phones are shit.
This is why I'll stick with OnePlus. LG and Samsung might slap together some good hardware, but their software is utter crap. OnePlus' OxygenOS is pretty damn close to stock Android like you would see on a Nexus or Pixel device. Situations like this where things aren't where they should be is definitely a check in the con box when you compare Android to iOS. iPhone users have an advantage by having the same user interface across devices. -

form my experiences, real helpful advises only happen outside site like this, on sites where less than helpful people get banned.
