In this case this thread was a joke, I had my next job a few weeks ago, I just ended my job on Friday and start the new one on Monday so I’m “unemployed” for a weekend.
In general I think it’s a product of the “technical interview”. People hate them and I kind of think they’re whiny bitches for it, but they do introduce a kind of stochastic noise to the process. Basically you pass a technical if you happen to know the set of things that the interviewer knows and is asking about. Average programmer probably remembers about 20% of the relevant material from undergrad, so we’d expect them to take on average 4 interviews to pass. There’s a lot of variety there though with significant populations remembering almost all and almost none of the curriculum.
Also as you get further into your career you start to get jobs through connections and stuff like that, so that contributes too. -

You aint getting shit in this country now (California is it's own country) if you have a white face. I said fuck this and still couldn't find work until I was brought on board in 2012. after my wife kicked me out.
