He's a pragmatist before anything else. When I say 'soft' I mean he tries to work within the parameters of the current political order, trying to work with the west even though he gets burnt again and again. Many people would prefer he take a more hostile approach as they see this as a constant affront.

they and their deep state knew this, which was why putin was chosen.

because putin is ol'school russian, with chinese characteristic.

they were dirt poor and didnt have resources and sustenance to stand up to the germans in WWII either, they still destroyed the pieces of shit.

you think the banking cabal known as the west wouldve insisted on starting WWIII having only an army of soyfags at their disposal that cant even defeat some jungle savages in vietnam? and over what? their right to defend themselves from a russian invasion that never happened or the right to expand to russias border?

i see what you mean. the only thing he is being too soft on IMO is not imposing the very real, devastating sanctions on europe by cutting off their gas supply. lets be real, nobody imposed any real sanctions on russia or else theyd stop buying their fucking gas which they KNOW they cannot without serious consequences to their economy.

why the hell did putin never give the ultimate ultimatum: we dont trade with NATO countries, go fuck yourselves.???

If there's one thing that helps to understand all of geopolitics, it's that power comes from control over energy supply. It's been the root cause of almost every conflict since WWII. By controlling the flow of petrol and/or gas to a state not only are you able to demand a price for something they cannot do without, you're also able to control the speed of their development, their industry, even their ability to wage war. Why do you think Trump is helping the Kurds hold Syrian oilfields? It's not just for the money, but to starve Syria proper.

Doing this is exactly what the US wants.

As it stands, both Russia and the US have natural gas reserves they want to sell to Europe. Russia is able to sell at a much lower price because they're closer and they have pipeline infrastructure, whereas the US' only option is sea transit. The pure cost paid by the US to deliver the same amount of gas is almost double what Russia must pay, so Germany for example simply cannot afford to pay a huge premium just because they're 'better friends' with the US. The only country that does is Poland because they're retarded bootlicks.

I'll keep the rest of this short, but a large part of the reason for the US-backed insurrection and coup in the Ukraine was to disrupt the pipeline that carries Russian gas to Europe and make more-reliable US shipments seem more appealing. As a result Russia has been working on the offshore NORD STREAM pipelines to bypass the Ukraine and other US-friendly countries entirely, which has led to all sorts of attempts to block progress. Even the incidents with the Skripals and Navalny have been brought up in EU courts as a proposed basis to halt construction of that pipeline.

not really, they werent rich money-wise but they were well stocked in terms of resources, both natural resources and unnatural ones. they were energy and food secure, had all the fuel amd steel they needed for their war effort, and millions of your, fighting aged males.

and theyre partially funded amd armed by the US.

the Russians won out against a lot of their enemies because what they would do is they would pull back in the winter and poison their wells so when the enemies were pushing them back they couldn't withstand the cold Russian Winters, nor would they find anything but poisoned food and wells. It would be a bitch and a half to haul all those provisions to keep their troops fed so basically they would just starve their enemies out

I said control, not just supply. KSA needs US-controlled supply lines to get that oil through the Gulf and to the rest of the world and Venezuela has been strategically kept from refining oil themselves - they've been forced to ship crude to refineries in the US. They haven't developed their own refinement industry in the past and won't be able to for a long time under current conditions.
