The decade began January 1st 2020 and will end after December 31st 2029.
The Gregorian calendar is irrelevant.
You begin with day one and work your way up to a year, you don't start with year 1.

The whole year zero argument just relies on the fact people back then didn't have the concept of 0.
Year 0 is the days and months leading up to a year thus 2020 was the start of the decade -

However, the truth is 2020 was officially the start of the decade.
As I said in an earlier post, you don't start with the number 1, you count up until you have 1.
Time begins at 0, 60 seconds and so on. -
