Why are some areas so damn poor?

Or it was something about where I was thinking about the idea of taking a day off of work, and say you made $100 a day for example at your job, by taking a day off you're in a sense paying $100 to not work for a day, and how basically anytime you arent working, you're paying a lot of money to not work when you could be making money with that time. Lol.

I posted about this relating to black urban communities before - they're not profitable, investors are unlikely to see a return on investment so they don't pour money into the area (ie. opening up shops and businesses). People aren't able to find decent employment and turn to crime, which further drives away investors so the people in the area are perpetually fighting over smaller and smaller scrapsThe following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

Well that definitely makes sense. That basically sounds like a prime example of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. -

Meth is cheaper on a dose per dose basis especially when bought in bulk which isn't even really an option for tobacco because they tax it so high -
