Why are some areas so damn poor?

I've been thinking about moving somewhere more rural, but as I was looking, I couldn't help but notice how damn poor some places are. Median household income of $25k a year? Average individual income of $13k a year? How the fuck do people manage to live on that with a family?

Granted, land and cost of living is significantly lower, but still. Even cutting out all the unnecessary consumerist shit, you'd still have to pay for:

    -A house + upkeep
    -Vehicle expenses (including gas)
    -Food
    -Utilities
    -Guns & ammo
    -Insurance (health, home, auto)

How do people do it? Fona, Bill Krozby, and other saps who work for next to nothing, feel free to chime in. How are your bills paid?

fallacy, you can eat healthy on the less money than buying boxed and frozen shit...the problem is you have to prepare the food/meals yourself and poor people are lazying fucking twats..hence why they buy frozen and boxed shit.

But, Archer, what if that poor child had grown up with middle class parents and gone to a good school and gotten a good education so he could earn a good living to support his family and make sure his children grow up right and have enough money to buy ass wet wipes?

Would that change your equation, Archer?

BTW, did you see my thread on a new revolutionary way to wipe your ass better and cheaper? It only uses three sheets of 2-ply toilet paper but you rip the third sheet off and insert it between the other two sheets at a right angle and fold over. You have just made toilet paper plywood that is much stronger than regular toilet paper and very unlikely to tear and get shit on your fingers. Try it out. I've been doing it this way for a week now with great results. No shit!

You could probably save approximately $2,000 a year by quitting smoking cigarettes alone. Twice as much if Shell smokes. You will also save money by not being sick as often causing you to lose work and pay doctors.

You might have to come up with more money because you will probably live longer.

I quit smoking 32 years ago and glad I did. I'm $60,000 richer now, more or less.
