theres a lot of intelligent people in the military that do it because they want to defend the country and so they can get their school paid for instead of going into debt like a lot of college kids end up doing that still wind up having to work at starbucks or something. -

if you're like 17 or 18 whether you join the military or not you wouldn't have an education anyways besides at best highschool, you gotta start somewhere.
they pay for you to get an education in the military, a lot of professionals in the medical field like doctors and nurses were in the military. -

Everyone there seems chill to me, and people rarely die it's all machines and bombs nowadays. It's just another job like being a police officer or a security guard and let me guess you don't respect their authority either?
There are no real wars anymore, Most soldiers end up in Korea or Germany or some shit and just fuck around most of the time waiting for the real shit to start. That was the entire point of the film Jarhead they thought they were gonna be heroes, fight Saddam an actual State fighting a State but what actually happened was they dropped a few bombs, there was some tank battles and then it was over.
It's like playing civilization, all the meat and potatoes is in the early game combat but once you get artillery and tanks you might as well be playing on autopilot because all that matters is who has the most shit to throw at the other guy.

That said, this is a pretty classist line of thought. Your likelihood of joining the military is perhaps based on intelligence, but also wealth. There is a point of poverty where even incredibly intelligent and sensible people see the military as their best shot at a better life and living up to their potential. the retards and unachievers get low-skilled jobs where they have large amounts of supervision and can do very little damage if they fuck something up.
the intelligent and high achievers get jobs with minimal supervision and critical job requirements…as well as jobs whos entirety of the job is supervising others, some of whom may be as smart and ambitious as they are.
wealth is literally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
- one rich-kid with a college degree wanted to get out but he annoyed his superiors so they wouldnt let him get a discharge even though his family was literally getting congressman/senators to call the chain of command. the result was the rich-kid was assigned to shit details…literally picking up trash on the base…while his compatriots were working in SKIFs and producing briefs for admirals and ultimately congress.
- one kid was an uber-low rank with zero authority yet his family was rich and would sent 'presents' to him and his friends.
- i knew personally a high ranking admiral who came from a piss-poor family with zero connection resources to business or elected officials, and literally didnt even have a high school diploma, but was intelligent and a uber-high achiever so he went from a shit-tier enlisted job to mulitple-star admiral.
Anybody who claims that Fin soley spams these forums, continues to ignore/disregard posts like ^^^these.
