Bed Bugs from used recliner
Long story short, got a used recliner and noticed a few itchy bites on my butt a few days later.
I looked inside the chair and found a few sparse signs of bedbugs (a few tiny grey spots in the stuffing, a few dried out bedbug skins). I searched the chair pretty thoroughly, but I did not find a live bug. Either way, we just took the chair out to the dumpster (after we spray painted a huge red X on it to prevent someone else from falling victim).
My question is, how much should I worry about an infestation? Like I said, I found about 2 bites on myself, and we removed the chair after it was only in our house for less than 72 hours. After we removed the chair, we vacuumed the room thoroughly (vacuum has a HEPA enhancement) and sprinkled Borax powder all over the carpet throughout the room. Tomorrow, we are going to use a clothing steamer to steam all of the carpets and furniture in that room.
I would appreciate advice and, if possible, a way to assuage my fears of a full-blown infestation. Thank you.
