the insurance will go up, and when people buy houses they check for the house of interest they want to buy to see if it has a crime record or neighors. also can affect values of neighborhood properties.
but when it comes to violent crimes, muggings, robberies, killings or gang activity it is good to know. -

BTW, my daughter doesn't live with me. At only 31 years old she just purchased her third home with 5 bedrooms and three baths. She is a bank loan officer and making multiples of what I ever made.

The urban location is full of college revelry but they keep to themselves in their naivete and are really just kinda of annoying because they dont know how things work and sometimes park their cars in inconvenient locations and party loudly at night. If you looked at crime statistics it wouldn't be a great neighborhood because there are robberies every weekend and police are called for assaults and drinking related issues. It also depends where you define the neighbourhood to begin and end (as that handy website does for you) and it can only take reported crimes as data. There should be a way to make it more accurate
