Also i think the strings are way too high but i dont wanna risk breaking the guitar by fucking around with the tension rod or filing down the saddle.
Something nobody told me when I first started learning is that you want to use the strength in your arm to bar/hold chords so you keep strain off the wrist. Don't want to be in your 70's and unable to enjoy your hobby due to arthritis. I didn't start doing this till like 2yrs in lol
I'm assuming you have a classical/nylon. That high action bothers me too. The ones they use in mariachi bands are ridiculous, it's like playing knives. I suggest going to a local guitar store and trying out some different ones. That's how I realized I wanted steel strings. They typically have a lower action and the sound is quieter and warmer and more twangy.
This is how I ended up with 10 instruments tho so be careful -

I just played thru this. idk if my hands are just retarded just it takes me forever to get from that F back to G. I guess ill try to crank out a serviceable rendition today. Easy but sounds good -

I have a nylon and a steel string. The steel is the one with the high action. So not only are the strings steel, but theyre like 3/8” up off the frets.
Also i alreadyhave arthritis. Doesnt give me the bluesy authenticity id hoped for -

That is the worst combination lol.
I really want one of those resonator guitars for blues. I feel like there's really no replacement for getting the 'authentic' instrument for a genre. I've been playing around with picking using the back of my nail and it seems to help get that bluesy sound, but it's not the same as using an electric or resonator guitar.
Like even if I put the capo to tune to C like a ukulele, Aloha 'Oe will never sound as good as on an actual ukulele. -

Damn that's a really awesome guitar both in terms of quality and as a historical replica. Good choice. -

Keep the first one. It's honestly really cool and I want one now.
FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW its a replica of Fender's first solid body electric from 1950. Same color as the original.
Neither is really a wrong choice tho -
2020-10-04 at 6:40 PM UTCSince Squier is kind of Fenders cheaper line, ill prolly keep whichever one has less defects. The strat has humbuckers which apparently create a nice muddy sound for certain styles, esp when running thru high gain amps. Theyre supposed to arrive today.
