Why not? As an American do you not have a right to protest? How do you expect to change the system if you don't stand up for your rights and the rights of your fellow citizens and their children?

Also why are you so concerned with skin colour? Was your first thought when you entered this thread "is he black,"? That's fucking weird.

Because itd be like protesting dog bites or jellyfish.

Innocent people are shot, its very, very rarely. We need to come to terms with the fact that as long as we have human beings doing this job, they will occasionally do dumb shit. That doesnt excuse it- but it means we should expect it and we should increase training and vetting processes if anything.

I care about skin color bc when youre shot by police in my country thats the only factor that matters, and the difference in outrage is a pretty stark contrast. Almost a decade later and Tamir Rice is still as much a household name as Uncle Ben-another apparent testament to American racism.

Leave it to dumb Americans to turn a thread about a 13 year old kid shot by police into yet another thread about black people.

When was the last time you burned down a burger joint to protest pedophiles?

Obbe, we have processes to deal with this sort of thing.

Violent and destructive ignorant indignation is not as good as due process.

You clearly don't "get it" and don't actually belong in civilisation at all.

I've never felt it was necessary to burn down anything to make my point, I've argued with the pedos on here numerous times though.

When was the last time you did anything at all to address the very obvious problems with police in your country?

    How do their boots taste?

Where was this kids due process?

Wasn't the cop who shot him being violent and destructive?

I actually protested for Eric Garner. A legitimate victim of police impropriety. Not just another bullshit criminal fighting the police used as a prop to score political points.

    My points are

    1. Im mad whenever an unarmed, peaceful person is shot by police
    2. Its rare enough that trying to create a national outrage out of it doesnt make a lot of sense. Trying to protest away human error just isnt going to work.
    3. Trying to make violent criminals into victims because of the color of their skin is even more asinine.
    4. What couldve been a discussion of militarization and how to improve training and vetting has become a national discussion of how awful white people are.

    1. So why aren't you mad about this?
    2. Who's trying to create national outrage? This is just a link to a news article, posted on a forum that 5 people read. Nobody is saying you need to get out there and protest, but you Americans should probably do something to fix your dumb country. Like maybe defund your police and reallocate those funds to alternative services that could have actually helped the situation and not shot a child for no reason.
    3. Why the fuck are you making this about race?? Is it just something you need to inject into every conversation you have?
    4. What the fuck are you talking about? You yourself are trying to steer this conversation into a debate about race. Nobody mentioned race until you brought it up.

I'm not trying to make this a personal attack on you. Maybe you're not a bootlicker. Maybe you have tried to enact change in the past. Just doesn't seem that way when you come into a thread about some little kid being shot by police and out of nowhere start trying to blame all your problems on black people and comparing this police shooting of a child to someone getting bit by a dog.

Usually when a dog attacks a kid, the dog gets put down.

    1. As long as theres corrective action taken, im not angry about most police shootings. For the most part bc in most cases, its a split second decision or a bad reaction and no one is going out with a hard on killpeople. Like Noor in Minneapolis (?). He didnt INTEND to kill that woman. So i cant be furious about that. You really couldnt pay me enough money to get beat us and spit and and puked on and shot at for 12 hours a day. The guy that shot Daniel Shaver, the guy that killed garner, scott, the guys that beat kelly thomas, that one officer holtzclaw that raped a bunch of women, the officers that killed tony timpa.....THAT kind of shit makes me mad. But as long as we have human beings doing a job like this, we should expect things we dont like will happen.

    2. Defunding police isnt going to help anything. Its going to make it worse. Yes-in situations like this, there should be a social worker of some kind equipped to better handle the situation. But what happens when a mentally kill man starts choking the social worker? Do we send police with the workers? Do we arm the social workers themselves? No one seems to have a lot of answers in that regard. But yeah-im not exactly sure why the officers found it necessary to have their weapons drawn for a 13 year old autistic boyin the first place. Pending other info, these officers should probably get their walking papers.

3, 4, 5- Because unfortunately in this country the entire discussion around policing is now centered on policing as it relates to the black community. I dont get mad at most white people shot by police because most of them are scumbags. But the stark contrast in the attention media and the public at large pays to black victims versus white victims- is weird and polarizing. Its this huge overcorrection. In the middle of my city being looted and streets blocked off, Its hard not to imagine this kid being ANYONE ELSE and having more buildings burn.

Aside from my broken teeth, i dont blame anything in my life on black people. My main point was that the reason im not out protesting today is because this is incredibly rare. As long as we have flawed, biased, fearful human beings in charge of solving all our problems and dealing with violence on our behalf, id imagine these things will continue to happen. Obviously im glad the kid is alive though, and those officers should probably lose their jobs.

Ok. That's a lot better than how you started out in this thread. I respect your opinions. I don't necessarily agree with everything, like trying to turn this into some racial issue, but I am also not an American myself so what do I know about American problems?

I'm mostly glad you agree that cop should lose his job.

Yeah i mean it doesnt mean i think the officer is a bad dude(ette), but i think if you shoot an unarmed kid that the parent has warned you is autistic with a fake gun-and you shoot him that many times- you at the very least shouldnt be a cop.

We can all agree this is bad.

What we disagree on are cause, effect, and solution.

I know what the liberal hypothesis is. I'm not sure what the conservative hypothesis is. But I know the reactionary hypothesis, and believe the reactionary solution - martial law + suspension of habeas corpus for as long as it takes to get the crime rate as low as Japans, at which point you can have un-armed police officer/community worker hybrids.

It's all in to say that an prepared woard structure quite helps, upon the solicitation for your interpretation. Though, as well, why wouldn't this happen when someone is an admirose towards Intellectual-Archiotyphoon Design? Because they can.
