i havent seen body armor shortages…a bunch of people i know just bought what they wanted without having to buy something because it was all that was available, like the ammo situation.
from what I've heard carriers and soft plates are still available, but III and up steel/ceramic plates aren't anymore.

combat firearms are non-existent right now. anything of military-caliber is off the shelf. ive literally had people calling me to ask if i know of anywhere or anyone that has such-and-such caliber or type available. i normally buy my firearms-related stuffs when theyre on sale or rebate. the norm is i can always find what i want/need within a few weeks on sale/rebate but there hasnt been a sale or rebate on anything worth buying since about april. i do the same thing with everything i buy and the sale-scarcity is only related to the arms industry since i have no problem finding tools and power equipment on the normal sales. i just bought a generator that was $200 off and 20% off a bunch of torque wrenches…so the arms industry is definitely making money right now.
it was only about a month or so ago that freeze-dried food became 'easy' to find again. i just bought a years worth of toilet paper since my two-year supply had waned down to only a year because i kept giving it to people.
