He went (traveled) there to clean up grafiti WITH AN AR-15and prevent arson WITH AN AR-15 in the city he worked in that was only 15 miles from his home. He was an EMT WITH AN AR-15 and went (traveled) out of his way to give first aid to several rioters WITH AN AR-15before he was attacked with an incendiary device by rioters for putting out a burning dumpster WITH AN AR-15 at a gas station. -

Did he go there alone, or with friends? I know that’s his friend’s gun. Which also makes me wonder if it’s legal to “allow” someone to use your gun?
If that’s been answered sowry, but I skipped about 10 pages in here. -

the thing that's going to get him in trouble is that he wasn't old enough to be open carrying, but I don't think that's going to affect his self-defence claim -

The same way it's legal to let someone borrow your car if they are legally permitted to drive dumb ass. -

I think he drove by himself and met people there, but it was only 20 min away, and he worked in Kenosha as a lifeguard . Doesnt really change much either way though. As I understand it, its legal to borrow a gun, but probably not to open carry as a 17 year old. That doesnt change the fact that- barring any new bombshell evidence- this is a pretty cut-and-dried self defense case. He retreated, they chased, they attacked. He shot. He retreated. They attacked, he shot. They attacked again, he shot again, and retreated. If there wasnt so much video, im sure they wouldve tried to paint him as a murderous white supremacist in court, too. -

2020-09-06 at 11:27 PM UTCI assume so but haven't seen anything concrete - I'd doubt someone would lend him their rifle without actually being there.
That's something I found strange though; he or any responsible adult there should not have allowed him to break off from the group like that. It was a very dangerous situation to be in, and whoever let it happen really dropped the ball -

I guess I meant, does anyone know if he went to the protest-turned-riot alone? -

The police moved their line while he was off site briefly. When he returned he was separated by the police line so he went to another spot they were protecting. That is whem he saw the rioters attempting to set the gas station on fire with a burning dumpsters and put it out with and extinguisher. It was at the point the asshole who got headshot started on him. -

First you said this, and a question popped in my mind to ask you. I was gonna ask, “Do you think he would have been attacked if he didn’t have a gun?” Then I thought to myself if he went down to the protests alone, he might of been kinda asking for trouble. There’s my whole train of thought. Don’t jump me over it. -

2020-09-06 at 11:40 PM UTCI dunno, that's what I was saying, not sure how or why he got separated but it was a mistake.
It's possible he broke off by himself, there's a video from earlier in the night where he was handing out water and offering medical help to 'protesters' so it's possible he didn't notice the 'less peaceful' element until they targeted him
