If you prove me wrong I'll just bring up how science said the earth was flat at one point and science changes and "facts" change so there isnt actually a thing as a fact.

Do you have any actual evidence that they exist? israel's been claiming they're '1-5 years away from a bomb' since the 70s, never actually providing proof, just a lot of theatrics.
What do you think the benefit of them developing nuclear weapons would be?
Even without them they have the ability to destroy large swathes of israel and anything in the Persian Gulf, making them redundant in a tactical sense. Having them wouldn't stop israel and the gulf states' sabotage and low-level warfare.
In fact becoming nuclear-armed would only increase hostility against them and reduce their ability to control escalation in a real war.
Iran is the "muslim wing" of the "axis of evil" and ostracizing them from the west only pushes them further into china and russia's orbit. It's stupid to move away from them considering they have such historic ties to the US/UK that would eventually be softened if they cut down the rhetoric. Although Iran is struggling persians are pretty smart people (even DJ Khalid) and there's something frightening about a people who mastered horseback archery, mathematics and poetry not to mention every fucking Iranian I've met (men and a disproportionate amount of women) are a highly skilled professional at their craft (or spending 9 years to become a PHD in a STEM subject) which is usually STEM related.
The US is basically still trying a "Castro Approach" to a country that doesn't need them at all. The currency markets did fuck with them but that's just before they shift their economy completely eastward. It's nobodies fault but the US's (Bolton and Trump's) fault when they do either. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens to the US because of it. Iran wields a big geopolitical sword for such a hurting ass nation and the US would do well to curry favor.
