But all the conservative "protests" (we know how you love that) to open back up NOW NOW NOW was just because people couldn't handle a little inconvenience. Not because the economy would never recover.
Tell that to all the restaurants and business’ that will never reopen due to the made up China virus 👍🏻
Many will not recover. That’s what those people were protesting (peacefully I might add) -
2020-06-05 at 7:08 PM UTCAirlines are going to be hurting for years...I hate to see how much my ticket to England is going to cost next year when I do my "old folk checkin trip"...maybe the old folks will die before then and instead of 10k on a ticket every 18 months it will be a one time 10k for funerals..here's hoping.

2020-06-05 at 7:10 PM UTCI flew to Florida a couple times for $89 round trip

If 7% are ultimately going to die of this then whether it's now or a year from now that's not going to change. The shutdown was never really about preventing it, it was about slowing it down so the hospitals wouldn't get overwhelmed.
There is a point as the Great Don said...that the cure is worse than the cause (or something like that)...and he's right...the 7% are going to die regardless...killing the economy for a decade as well just doesn't make sense just so Uncle Jimmy can live another 6 months longer in the nursing home. -

Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson Well no, because they have been reopening the economy…For the last month here in Houston for example restaurants and stores have been reopened…and unemployment has fallen…so that's a confirmation of their words and concerns, thumbsup.

Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson Um correct, no one said it was a permanent shutdown…but for many businesses..it was. I'm having to find a new Metal fabricator because the one we've been using for 20+ years shut down for example.
So again, the longer the shutdown was/is in effect the higher the unemployment rates go and the chances of some businesses being able to stay in business is reduced…
Really Lazza, I'm surprised a man of your education and reasonable nature can't figure that out…I know the liberal pundits couldn't because they were predicting 20% this morning…lololol

Lern comprehension lazza, the "single" business wasn't the singular result, it was a "single" example...there are MANY others. -

You're the one that seems to be struggling with comprehension. Of course that isn't the only one, but obviously not that many or unemployment wouldn't have bounced back.
Guess those businesses that fell are no different than the the deaths due to "preexisting conditions". Weak businesses that were going to fall anyways.
