I think it can be agreed upon that generally, violence is wrong, no matter who it's against. But I think it can also be agreed upon that under the right circumstances, violence can be justified. And therefore, even in the case of hitting women, I don't think hitting them is categorically "bad".

So when talking about the general case of hitting women, it is situational.
But that's not the consideration in this particular situation, and Bill Krozby deserves to get shit. It's not particularly the act of hitting a woman in itself; most people here don't give a fuck about respecting women. It's about the bitchassness involved in the action.
