I'm one of the most jaded cunts going. I've watched A Serbian Film twice. I've watched two of the August underground films without batting an eyelid. I don't even really fear for my own safety that much.
But ever since seeing a John Jones Nutty Putty cave doc on youtube I just can't stop watching extreme caving videos. These people are fucking insane and are just inviting a slow, helpless death if anything goes wrong.
The last thing on earth I would ever do for fun is let out all the air in my chest to fit through a passage that's too small to be my coffin, but watching other people do it gives me a rush.

Yeah man, that's John Jones, it was his story that got me into these videos. The guy had a wife and kids and still did this shit. Those diagrams illustrating how he got stuck are harrowing.

You know what's far more terrifying than caving? Icing and getting stuck underneath a huge mountain of snow, I had a dream about that. All I could think of is how miserable it would feel in that moment, knowing you're stuck and will die ... What does one do in a situation like that to cope.
Never give up, ever, if you have a pick and working arms, you have a chance. If you are even pinned, try... try to dislodge. If it goes wrong, you tried, If you're pinned and can't move, struggle anyway. while you have breath, struggle, fight, get downright mean. NEVER stop, till your heart does...
You just might win. It'll get hot, and claustrophobia can set in, but get mad at that too. Why? it's in your fuckin way! you have to get rid of all fear, and get pissed.... at least when you do lose out, you did everything that your body could possibly pull out of it's resources.
When shit gets mean, get meaner. You'll beat tremendous impossible odds that you were sure was your last light. fuck that, get angry at even that.
Also, strategize... strategize big time. you ain't goin anywhere.... yet. so do it...
