Ninjas were actual historical assassins. No one is disputing this. There’s a bunch of records confirming their existence. But “ninjutsu” is a fake mystical practice whereby it’s practitioners are said to be able to scale vertical walls and make themselves invisible. It’s all nonsense, probably disinformation they spread themselves as a form of psychological warfare. Real ninjutsu isn’t about mythical techniques and martial arts, it’s about survival and guerilla warfare, which is not hidden knowledge.
they still had to have specialized skills and weapons no one outside their clans knew. this is documented they used ninja stars and powder for instance not just a myth.
