And since all these masks are made in China, and they were hoarding them for their own country’s use, we weren’t able to increase supply to meet our demand.
Only an idiot would believe that wearing a mask doesn’t help to prevent the spread of a disease that literally transfers from person to person THROUGH THEIR BREATH. -

Probably a lot of the confusion around this is from the fact that N95 masks (or even N99 or N100 masks) mainly only filtér particles bigger than .3 microns. The typical size of the coronavirus virions is about .125 microns. However, the primary vector of the novel coronavirus are droplets, even the smallest of which usually range in size from around 1-5 microns. -
