    people like Bernie and Tulsi would've been better off running as independents considering they have very little in common with either party, but the system is geared in such a way that nobody outside of the two biggest parties stands a chance at gaining any real traction, outside of maybe shifting the balance in congress/the senate

    one of the reasons... I think it's safe to say that any 'representational democracy' eventually comes down to 1 or 2 blocs though, given how it's played out from the US, to Europe, to Australia to Iran
