2020-03-20 at 11:50 PM UTCMy 94 y/o Mom is on lockdown in her assisted living facility. She can’t even leave her room. My sister and brother-in-law used to visit her every day. I’ve been calling her a lot more. I’m sure she’s lonely, but my sister is keeping her stocked up on books on tape.
Had to edit, 94, but beyond 90 who gives a shit! -
2020-03-20 at 11:53 PM UTCYeah I'm probs going to read more whilst this shit goes on.

2020-03-20 at 11:55 PM UTCYeah she used to be a huge reader till her eyes got too bad. She loves those historical wartime, and detective books.
Sooo glad she discovered books on tape. -

2 octobers ago the nurses actually killed my grandmother because she was just so old she was like 93 or something and hadn't been weeel in the head for basically my whole like (she accused me of calling her an old witch) when I was 8 which is not the kinda vernacular I would use at that age.. anyways she was a good woman but just super old. I was walking down the street one day sippin my brew and I though about her, and was like "damn she's prolly so old she's not doereerering weeel" like she's just so out of it she's not feeling well and will probably die soon.. next morning I get a call from my dad saying she died.. and my mom told me that they just got nurses overdose her on morphine because she was that close anyways and already scribed it..
but its strange I've thought about about certain people or looked at then and thought to myself their going to die and they with in a few days. So I try go out of my way to reverse those thoughts, because thats kinda scary.

What is it like over the years as your parent transitions from their 50s to their 90s? I suppose it's just like anyone aging, it just always feels weird to picture my mom (currently 55) being 90 years old and just all feeble. I mean with all due respect. Shes just always felt like shes gonna stay the same forever. Lol -

No, it's not only Jews. It's people from all nations and tribes and tongues. 144,000 from the "Great Crowd", to act as ambassadors for the people on Earth, as they will have lived righteous lives themselves here, only too familiar with the human condition. It would have been only the Jews, but they broke the Covenant they had with the Creator, rending that deal as a special people null and void. They lost their chance, through their own wickedness, idolatry and disobedience. Now, that special group will come from all across the planet. True story. -

For me it hasn’t been bad. My father died in 2000 and completely had his faculties about him at the time. Very athletic man that never smoked or drank. My Mom did not have to go into the assisted living facility till 2 years ago. She’s pretty much got her wits about her still, but her body is aging and certain organs are just too old to function like they used to. She recently became diabetic because her pancreas is just plain old. She’s legally blind cause her eyes are just old, and she can barely hear without hearing aids, and dammit they’re out being fixed so I’ve been yelling to speak with her on the phone. But yeah, I’ve been pretty lucky so far not having to see my parents decline mentally. -
