I have a massive cut in my foot due to the surgery, yet it feels so much better. I presume that's due to the screws and wires they removed, which were holding my tibula and fibula tightly together.

Just wait and see, but you have to think about how much you will use your leg at work, or even on the commute there and back. You’re obviously going to feel better resting it. Give it time, don’t rush it.
