    Bluetooth speaker = awful seems like the unwritten rule of consumer electronics.
    
    I have one bluetooth speaker that still works great - but I gutted it and replaced the power supply. It used to hum at 60hertz before. Once I opened it up I found out why - a big transformer interfering magnetically with the speaker. I replaced the transformer with a switched mode power supply.
    
    One Samsung one broke without accountability. I just dumped it.
    
    One got hot and melted down. Still grateful it didn't start a fire. There was melted plastic and everything.
    
    One I left in the car over summer with some chemically stuff (superglue?) and it made a real mess - worked afterwards, but eventually I just dumped it.
    
    Bluetooth speakers are so disposable it's not even a joke.
    
    Modern phones have pretty loud speakers, so hopefully you can mostly do without.

    Personally I love just plugging the AUX cable in. It's very handy.
