2020-02-24 at 10:52 PM UTCWars exist strictly to transfer wealth from the tax coffers directly into the bank accounts of a handful of world oligarchs. The whole thing is a giant scam.

They were wasted digging holes and filling them back up again. For instance building railways in Africa, fighting France, Germany, Belgium, Russia and other white countries, securing commercial rights for opiate dealers like the jedi Sackler family - in China, and lately of Purdue Pharma/Oxycontin fame, and trying to elevate the masses of the third world - the white man's burden.

2020-02-25 at 12:31 AM UTCOverall, wars cost money, not generate it. With exceptions. There's people who profiteer from wars yes. The colonies and trade did generate wealth. Could more wealth have been generated by staying at home? Hell no, the wars for colonization were vital to Britain. Else Britain would be an overpopulated shit hole.
US profited immensely from WWII due to their economy becoming socialized during this period then returning to privatization. After 1945, gov't sold most of what it had built during the war. Suddenly there was a huge surplus of material, workers, time, money and empty factories. And it was all put to good use by entrepreneurs, picked up on the penny.
Men are needed for wars. For both frontlines and production. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that when you take men away from working on civilian infrastructure, that the working class is paying for the war. None of this economical mumbo jumbo. A country has a set amount of manpower and can choose which industries to dedicate them to. They could've been better spent their time producing cars, building houses, building healthcare facilities, schools, producing equipment for civilian infrastructure.
Then the US boys don't understand they can't have free healthcare or subsidized education. It's because you wage wars that you end up loosing anyways. -

Huh? I'm by no means a socialist. Certain programs should be government funded, however. Police, fire, healthcare, ambulance, education, road works, military, prisons and I'm sure there's a few more. There should be private competitors to all of these as well to keep gov't on their toes. Bernie's plan is shit, planning to pay for illegals to have their sex change operations then put them on welfare for the mental trauma chopping off their dick causes. -

Body guards do not have police powers and isolated mercenary units do not equal a standing army for national defense. How can you be so stupid about everything? -

Some things don't make sense to have privatized. K-12 education is widely accepted among these things. As are police forces. Basic healthcare should be among them. The private entities here exist to give people who don't like the public offerings. Whether it's mercenaries, private hospitals or private education.
Saying the US should have a policy that's been implemented in every other developed country, and even in most developing countries, makes me a socialist. Ya right. Looks like the US is the last bastion of Freedom from the tyranny of publicly funded healthcare. -

I'm saying it should be a public offering open to those who cannot afford private education or the time for homeschooling. You want your neighbours to be illiterate?
In a perfect world, a stable job would provide enough money to cover all these costs. Unfortunately, it's not. So we must tax it out of the rich. -

But you're not seeing the forest for the trees. Think about what you just said. "Wars cost money, not generate it...". Yes, it costs more, but that's the whole point of it is to cost more. The "cost more" is the money being stolen from the tax coffers. It's supposed to cost more than it generates, by design.
