They've had just as much trials as any other FDA approved drug. They didn't get fast tracked. They had the red tape removed. The trials were just as thorough and up to standard.
Otherwise these drugs existed back in spring and could've been out much much sooner.

I think it only slows breathing in ridiculous amounts. The LD50 for benzos is insanely high. CDC data shows most deaths involving benzos have other drugs involved.
