Was going to go into x-ray tech school in a couple weeks, I did all the testing, 2 semesters of anatomy+physio, I have literally all of my non-core credits done since I have 55-60 or so credits, did 24 hrs shadowing at the hospital..
But I'm just not interested in it AT ALL, and I don't think I'll be happy making a such mediocre salary doing something so I have 0 interest in. Plus the job market for x-ray is awful right now, way too many tech graduates lately.
Nursing pays well at least but I'm finally clean of benzos and opis for the first time in years, and I'm learning that sober me just does not care about helping people get better.
It gives me no satisfaction and I'm sorry Candy, but most nurses are EXHAUSTING to talk to. Everybody's allowed to be utterly emotionally unstable, except me. A guy who literally gave himself w/d induced psychosis. I digress.
Anyway, I told them to transfer me to the welding program because I'm actually decent at that and I enjoy it. Pay for a low tier trained welder is similar anyway, and aluminum/pipe guys make quite a bit. I'll be glad to done working for a while so I can get back to being awake during the days. I forgot how nice it is to have mornings and evenings.
