You need to parse his whole attitude about "white 50 year old guys" (stockton was 61) and try to figure out what was going on in his addled head, before it got turned to mush. Basically he pretended to care about women and young people and minorities, but that was just his way of justifying surrounding himself with people he felt better than and could bully. He viewed older white males as potential rivals.
It's not about experience in an expertise sense, it's that he didn't want men who were self-confident, assertive and able to hold their own in an argument around.
Everything about Stockton screamed egomaniac, and he didn't want to know anything about his shitty carbon fibre tube's health. He didn't want to check it for delamination or signs of stress or anything, and fired and sued an older white male who signaled alarm about that (and the effectiveness of the phony acoustic monitoring solution they had). -

In reality that simply isn't a practical means of detecting receivers.

The only problem is cleaning it and it can sort of keep the smell of the last thing that was cooked in it on the lid. -
