That's a complex question because in Europe you actually can still be "Irish" or "Spanish", even if I can't tell them apart, but in America you have had an ethnogenesis - the formation of a new people - because whites all fucked each other and most white Americans genuinely don't know what they are.

This is very true. Whites will fuck their whole race over for a slightly bigger house, or a slightly nicer car.
OTOH jedis will take major individual risks (look at the jedi spies in Arab lands) and very significant financial hits (oy my shekels!) to advance their collective agenda.
I don't think most whites have what it takes to belong to a tribe, race or group. The sooner they die out the better. -
