So basically the West has no religious caste anymore (apart from the secular religious wokesters).
We used to have a Monastic tradition, nuns, monks, lay brothers and sisters, diocesan hermits, ermites, anchorites, cenobites, cloistered scholars, consecrated virgins, consecrated widows, religious orders, missionary societies, canons, religious mendicants, hospitaliers, military orders, all sorts of different ways of life.
