and yes, they hook it up to a POS system and look to see if the IMEI number matches the back plate serial. also, the mount for the battery and the nanoboard is welded to the backplate. the battery comes out but not the processor. it's soldered in. the front plate with the screen is only flex cables to the digitizer and LED back panel.
