But I had one competitor ... Peggy she was an older woman who could smooth sell ice to Eskimos ...
She was there from the moment they opened until the moment they closed because we could actually do that .. literally stay as long as we wanted
The latest we stayed open I think was like 8/9 and I can’t lie that’s when people would get pissed!
You’re calling them during dinner and they don’t like it ..
“Don’t call my fuqn house at this hour! I’ve worked all day I’m eating with my family!”
So I didn’t usually stay late because I didn’t like getting that response because it wasn’t what I was used to ya know ...
But one day I asked Peggy how much she bring In every two weeks staying the hours she does from open to close .. she said over two stacks and I’m like damnn peggy! You workin’m ..
We did get bonuses for extra sells and I always hit those numbers and more but I had to kind hound them about my bonuses and I didn’t like that .. but they would give it after you kept on them lol

So after I get the job I realized that I had a genuine gift..
As the days went by I noticed I’m the only one near my cubicle who’s not getting hung up on...
The calls were automatically produced and I had a headset and a computer..
Sometimes I’d call someone and they’d say can I call them back
And I’d say I have no control over who the system would give the call back to and they’d be upset and say If it wasn’t me who called they weren’t interested
The calls were monitored and I could hear a slight echo when my team lead was listening in
This one guy tries to have lowkey phone sex in the middle of a sale and I hear this echo .. and my boss is looking at me
And I’m looking at her like wth ..then she disconnected the call
She said she could tell by my face something was going on so she saved me there

So back in my early 20s I was a telemarketer.. I’ve always spoken very well so idk why I never thought to work the phone till then but I went to an interview with a girlfriend of mine who had a thick country accent
So we’re all at the big table doing a group interview.. like 10 people
I’m giving direct eye contact because that’s how I am and he couldn’t help but look at me more because I’m giving this eye contact
He has me read this fake script of sales .. then everyone else..
He calls me back first and told me I had the job ..
When my friend came out she said he told her he’d call her
I felt bad so I said he told me the same thing ... ya know because she was a real sweet girl just very country

The director was named Rinnoco ..pretty sure he still is over the theater “ETA” ...
He was a hard ass and was super strict on us
If we missed a play or rehearsal hed go off on these long tangents
That always lead to him telling the story of how he still preformed the night his mother died .. so he wasn’t tryna hear nan excuses lol

See I did theater in school as well as outside of school
Most of my siblings did as well
Sometimes our school would go to plays that my older adult sister was actually in.. after the show she’d come and hug me or something and my classmates always was like how you know her? Lol

I remember I had the lead in a play/musical and I practiced so much I lost my voice completely..
Had to be in about 5-6 grade ..
News crew came and interviewed me about the play ..because it was kind of a big deal in the city the school doing this big production.. and was gonna be put on at Kennedy King College in Chicago
The interview lady asked me what I was gonna do when she noticed I was horse .. I told her I practiced too much and I’ve been drinking tea to get my voice back
I sounded so bad :/
It was called “The Golden Bird” ..

But it was a learning experience of the show must go on
I’ll tell you another thing that shaped my personality a lot.. that’s being in theater
I did musical theater from like second grade up until I was 19
When you grow up as a theater baby you’re just really odd in general everyone is super weird and fun lol :)
