for 2500 bucks I could buy 22 of the best setups for walk boards and safety while working on standing seam roofing, but after reading the fine print the fact is no one can trust a standing seam roof to not slide off the top of the house as it is held down my 12 penny or smaller nails every several feet but the nail is through a small strip of metal that gets bent between the 2 sheets of metal. that means it could unravel at any time so even if I spent 2500 I still wouldnt be as safe as I will building my own working platform attached to 2 ladders strapped to the roof and screwed to the other side of the house.

2022-04-09 at 3:40 PM UTC in Poledaddy's fatherly wisdom threadI was a glass blower for over a decade, I had pretty good glasses for the time but between that and being to old to have great vision I won't weld and man do I want to , but I don't want to speed up my vision loss so I cant do it.
that being said I was never good at welding BUT I never had a proper welder so I couldn't get good at it.
looking at new welders and new types of welding I see it looks really easy now.
I am going to buy a spot welder so I can replace rocker panels on my cars and trucks but they don't seem to be as hazardous to the eyes cuz its a spot and easier to shield from .
I want to build a mini jet boat powered by a 1000cc R1 Yamaha street bike engine

2022-04-06 at 7:51 PM UTC in What are you doing at the momentits done, except the settling down part, still have to get the toter off the front and build bigger jack pads in a few days after it settles some. get a check tomorrow for the first paint job of this season, its gonna be a bitch cuz of the gable ends being in a bad place on both ends of the house, one end is above a 10/12 pitch roof that I have to use a ladder off of on a 10/12 pitch thats sketchy as fuk, and the other end is above an 8 foot porch roof on a 5/12 pitch but its old as fuck and the metal roof cant be trusted to hold walk boards or a ladder...The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

walk board seam clamp for metal roof is 2500 bucks for two...
seam clamps for solar panels on metal roofs are 6 to 24 bucks, they look tough enough to hold a lot of weight so maybe a bunch of em would hold a ladder ,, my afreakin in j e w new ity is kickin in guysThe following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
2022-04-04 at 7:14 PM UTC in What are you doing at the momentplanning on how to set up a ladder where ladders shouldnt go, I gotts go up 24 feet but its above a porch roof that is 12 feet high but the ground drops away fast so setting up scafflding won't work and the metal roof has an upside L instead of an strait fold, with a strait fold I could cut a board every place it has the strait lip but its an L upside down, cant cut an upside L in a board every 18 inches and get it to slide up from the bottom where you could then clamp it to the roof. ,, welp I'm off to you tube for answers
