yesterday I was testing the barrel to make sure I could make enough steam as my last setup wasn't doing that for me and I had to use blocks that only got pasteurized to 180 ,, that is hot enough but it has to get every bag that hot for several hrs.
yesterdays test showed me I can make enough steam to do the job, today I'll mix up 50 bags of substrate and load the barrel, tomorrow at 3am I'll fire the steam barrel and start the process, I hope to reach 200 degrees this time and the cook will last till midnight.
that's about 6 hrs to get the bags/ blocks up to temp and 15 hrs at 200 to achieve proper sterilization.

I just wanna say I would not have been jumping in dumpsters if I hadn't been making $250.00 + a day doing it and it was only one month a year.
it also provided me all my designer clothes, laundry soap, fabric softener, fancy kitchen wear, appliance's ie microwaves , big screen TV's, toasters, Tp, and enough stuff to sell for $5.00 each at the Mexican flea market to leave with 4 to $600.00 a weekend for at least 6 weekends after the Bonanza of the college kids moving out.
