I facepalm so much reading posts on this forum now that it’s becoming quite painful to continue working on shaping its evolution lol

Cold turkey is the best way to go unless you don’t have time to spend sick as hell. It is hard to force yourself to feel that sick, but what I find more difficult to deal with is the difference in your sense of how fast time is passing, week or few weeks you spend sick are going to feel like months

Honestly I think tapering is for pussies. I have quit cold turkey and quit by tapering, from every form of opiate or similar action medication (aside from heroin) over 20 times or so since I was prescribed for my sensory problems and nerve pain back in 2009. In 2012 my insurance rejected my doctors claims for OxyContin, because my doctor didn’t want me taking oxycodone IR several times a day instead, so he prescribed me methadone because it was the only long action painkiller my insurance would pay for. When I had to move, no doctor would take me as a patient because there aren’t any specialists here that deal with neurological pain problems. Quitting methadone 50mg a day cold turkey left me pretty sick for a few months, physically the worst was over with after a couple weeks but psychologically I still am not the same, I still cannot sleep, I still get physical withdrawal symptoms sometimes despite being free of any opiates/methadone/suboxone/fenanyl/Crouton/poppies etc for over a year now

Having done both (quitting by taper or cold turkey) with all kinds of different types of medications so many times, I personally feel that cold turkey is the better option if you are able to spend time sick likely not leaving the house for a while, everyone processes their length of withdrawal differently. I likely had it harder because I have had problems with my opioid receptors my entire life with or without meds

However, I decided it was not worth the ups and downs, and I wanted to feel alive again so I decided to just start dealing with constant pain & my senses tripping out like I did before I was first prescribed anything, the pros of having my emotions, sex drive and senses even if some are occasionally intolerable greatly outweigh the cons of the up and downs of medicating it

You just need to try any way to quit, and if one way doesn’t work for you try a different way until you find what works & are feeling confident about your choice/reasons so there’s no question regarding sticking to it once you figure out the best path for you personally

That is justification to myself. I’m the one who hurts when I eat poorly & feel sick or carry unnecessary extra weight.

He was nice about it and wanted to see if I was into it, I just gently pulled his hands away and said no. First time for everything I guess lmfao I was NOT expecting anything like that to happen but I trust him completely, I know he would never try to hurt me. He is always trying to make sure I don’t hurt myself tripping or opening all my doors for me etc lol

    Yeah IDFK

Yeah, it’s just now my skin looks. I have a tan, but my skin is red 24/7 year round, tan or not. It looks like rosacea, but it’s actually keratosis pilaris. I used to get the spots on my arms and legs when I was younger and ppl always thought I was diseased lmao but they go away with age. The rednesss in my face has only faded a little from losing weight. I am quite fortunate to be blessed with glowing skin, it’s been a sign of good health for all of time.
