A unit could be like this but with a crapper and mattress in it. It would typically have wheels installed so it could be pulled around like a wagon. For high risk prisoners there could be a cellular connected monitoring unit with a camera. Staff could be contracted to check the footage occasionally from India to make sure prison rules are being followed.
The persons family can go talk to their guy in the cage as long as its visiting hours. Also they can feed them and put the cage indoors if they want so there is heat and air. If they have the financial means they could get a van like the handicap vans with the wheelchair lift but it will lift the cell into the van and they can drive it to go to work. Once they get to work someone will unload them out of their van and push them into their desk or machine station.

Oklahoma has been running out of their old stuff that would kill a guy and was in a bit of a crisis on how to proceed but has come up with a clever way to keep the punishment up until they get some more poison. They are buying what is basically a research chemical from Chinese vendors that causes the onset of moderate to severe arthritis and plan to begin dosing the inmates as they begin to start exhausting their appeals. -
