I refuse to ever forget and give in to illusion as the others do, even if it leads to great suffering. There are countless flaws in the notion of human "love". It is an impossibility and I have deemed it an incorrect path in life. I could write a novel on this subject, had I any desire to share my thoughts. Give food to the hungry, water to to the thirsty, shelter and protection to the homeless, comfort to those who need it, aid to the wounded and sick. It's hot today, so I put a small fan out in case they care for a gentle breeze.
Such simple relationships, and generally far more deserving than human beings.
Love is pleasurable, probably the most pleasurable thing in the universe. Yes it has down sides but so does everything. I’ve been heartbroken and I’m a hopeless romantic one day i hope to find my soulmate. I think it’s worth a little pain on the way there.

Cats aren't hard to love. Everyone likes cats. But it is hard to get them to love you, and trust you.
The reason you guys REALLY like cats is because it's comparatively harder to gain their love (than for example a dog), but the bar is still low. Your entire lives, you have been "nice guys" and gotten nothing but rejection and failure out of it. And then comes along a simple creature that wants pets and food and water, and that's it. It loves you. It gives you something you've never had.
