Site not secure?
I'm of the opinion that a self signed cert is worse than no SSL at all, self signing encourages people to ignore warnings or worse acknowledging untrusted certificate authorities, it's a false sense of security as far as I'm concerned. At least with no SSL people who care should understand there's a risk of MitM.
In any case, letsencrypt is now issuing free certs, which is cool, https is now working. Serving http alongside because I'm not convinced everything ever (especially anonymous sessions) needs SSL, but if you're signing in I encourage you to use it, I will.
Your browser may still refuse to show you the happy green lock of warm-safe-feelings on some pages since users can embed non-SSL images. If this bothers you you can disable images either from your user profile page or through your browser.

For searching code "ack" is preferred, it will skip binary files which makes it faster than grep. Then you don't have to mess around with the file type pattern matching. Just "ack '$pasword'", it will search more than php, but who knows maybe there's a bash script with some nice passwords somewhere.
I think it goes by extension so a script with no extension might be excluded, not 100% on that though.

The mind is a meat radio.
A radio requires a listener. Yeah everthing is just different electrical inputs, but until you listen to it, then it's as useful as a radio in the middle of the forest with nobody around. I suppose it supports that there is no free will, but in that case it's more just an analogy than a spiritual item.
We are kind of back where we started. Why do we have the sensation at all? Why did we even adapt to become a receiver? It's evident we are just "experiencing" everything. But we have been built like a radio to experience it, you can stick a rock in front of the TV and it won't feel anything different. You can smash it to pieces and it would logically have to "feel" something, however rudimentary, otherwise how could ever adapt to nuances like sound and colors.

Hell forums reloaded got shutdown a while ago, they got hacked. You can find the dump circulating around private communities. I doubt the current page is even legitimate, probably a scammer is my guess. But yes I can agree with you on that, pay to join is bad.
Can't say if they are good or not, but saw some forums being mentioned around /baphomet/ being mentioned the other day, maybe worth checking out.

Maybe you're right about the new Hell forums. Is the new one where you have to pay BTC for an admittance fee or some shit? Anyway, yeah baph was pretty good way back when, it's meh these days. I'll check out criminal.cat though, thanks.

Another: Hands down the best horror offering in anime. People go nuts for Shiki but it's shit and it art is shit compared to Another. Atmosphere out the ass, very mind-fuck-y/psychological, doesn't cuck you on the ending. One of the few entries in the horror genre, anime or otherwise, that has characters that aren't dumb as shit while maintaining a sense of mystery throughout (as opposed to the usual stupid protagonists or survival-horror angle where the fear of the unknown element is lost at the point someone figures out the big secret).
Bakemonogatari: Supernatural romance that plays against all the usual tropes of that genre. Slow moving and atmospheric, hot and cold with the fan service angle. "Artsy"
Usagi Drop: Tragedy/super-cute heart-warmer. Loli bonus, might want to pick up the manga since the anime cuts out before she goes all delores on the protag.
Yuyushiki: Carve your heart out with cuteness slice-of-life, significant yuri themes. It's so artificially sweet that it wraps back around into being an interesting exercise in genre excesses that dances between nihilism and the existential absurd. Or just cute girls doing cute things that's cuter and girlier than any other contender. Depends on your outlook I guess. I think of it as being to SoL as KlK is to action/fight anime but a bit more subtle.
